Basement Files: 123… (Nikki)

January 16, 2015 at 7:25 pm (general)

I’ve known Nikki for a few years now, but I’ve never gotten to tie her for reals. I told her about the new project, and she offered to come by and lend a hand (and a torso, and some amazing hair, not to mention the legs and that face…..)

Jan 13: Japanese Bondage Night (Sliding Scale Lesson + Practice) at Little Boxes Theater

January 3, 2015 at 2:00 am (general)

In partnership with Little Boxes Theater, I’m proud to announce the first of many low-key, sliding scale classes. If this goes well we will be doing them on a monthly basis.

I’ll design the classes to be approachable by rank beginners, but challenging and thought provoking for more advanced practitioners. (we also encourage the more experienced students to help the beginners.

We ask for a sliding scale donation of $5-$20 per person. All money collected goes to the space. Little Boxes Theater is a wonderful space accessible by public transit.

The evening’s schedule is as follows:

 7:45 Doors open
8:00 - 8:30 Setup and optional stretching exercises, led by Aaron S.
 8:30 - 10:00 Lesson
10:00 - 10:30 Practice and free time.
  • Rope should be 7-8m in length, 4-6mm width, and made of natural fibers.
  • If you don’t have that, we have practice rope for you to borrow.
  • We have rubber mats, but you may want to bring your own yoga mat or fluffy towel.
  • You don’t need to bring a partner, but singles must be willing to tie and be tied.
  • No one will be turned away for lack of funds, but please donate if you can.
  • This is a photography positive event. If you wish to not be photographed, we will have an photo off-limits area.
  • Two cats now live at the theater. Our apologies to the allergic.

We’d like to keep an air of mindfullness and respect in the space, even during the after lesson practice. Please keep your voices low and side conversations to a minimum on the practice floor. There’s an area for socialization, but also please keep the noise levels down. we are aiming for an atmosphere where partners can hear each other’s breathing.

Likewise, while the space has overhead points, we’d ask that students not do wild scenes or over-challenging suspensions simply for the sake of suspending. We may do future events focused on suspension, but at first we’d like to avoid a pissing match or rodeo.

Directions to the venue.

After almost 5 years of living in The Bunker, I’m finally getting ready to shoot in the “creepy basement.” Katharine was nice enough to stop by for a lighting and composition test. I hope to really sink my teeth into her this project soon. All photos by G.A.B. (c)2014 Tied Out West

Jun 4 to 10 – Peter Slemrian in San Francisco (with Gorgone!)

June 10, 2014 at 3:00 am (general)

TL:DR; I hate to read, I just want tickets!

Jun 4 – Groundwork, for beginners to experts-  http://hipeter.brownpapertickets.com
Jun 6 – Black Everything Party http://blackeverything.brownpapertickets.com
Jun 7-8 – 2 day intensive – http://psinsf.brownpapertickets.com

I’m good. Give me the details!

I’m happier than happy to announce that the world famous Peter Slemrian from Copenhagen will be coming to San Francisco! As an added bonus, Peter will be joined for all these events by the talented and beautiful Gorgone from France.

Peter is one of the original European bondage artists to study with Japanese masters in Europe and Japan, and he has dedicated countless hours to his practice of Kinbaku. Peter is also one of the finest teachers with who I have ever studied, his teaching method is precise yet positive, emphasizes the technique as much as the artistry, and the mind as much as the heart. Everything he teaches promotes the need for connection between two partners as much as where the ropes go or how and why they go where they do. Peter speaks fluent English (more fluent than me at least) and has quite helpful explaining some of the more obscure (and everyday) Japanese terms people bat around.

Gorgone! You may have seen her at the last Black Xmas as a rigger, now see how amazing she can be as a bunny.
